A hand-painted interpretation of Paul Cézanne’s Mont Sainte-Victoire with Large Pine (c. 1887). A vintage acrylic painting. A tall, slender pine rises through the centre of the picture, its branches sweeping out across a soft lilac and blue sky. Behind it the pale mountain looks down on a patchwork valley in ochre, sage and fresh green, with a small viaduct running across the middle distance. The paint goes on in short, confident patches of colour, so the whole landscape seems to shimmer with warmth.
