THE JETTIES

THE JETTIES

A peaceful 1940s Swedish landscape of a sheltered inlet on a cloudy summer’s day. Wooden jetties reach out into blue water, a little red boathouse with an orange roof sits on the far shore. The brushwork is relaxed, with a soft, silvery sky over the whole scene. The rocks, jetties and red-painted timber make it feel unmistakably like the Scandinavian archipelago.

Oil on canvas in original frame.

Signed Alb. Larsen and dated 1946.

Frame dimensions: 62x51cm (depth of frame 9cm)
